Republic of Lebanon is rather small arab country. It has an area 10452 sq.km. and population about 6900000. Beirut is a capital of this state. Lebanon was under the French possession until November 22 1943 and then became an independent country. Lebanon has an own currency - pound (or lira) of Lebanon. 1 pound = 100 piastres. 10000 pounds = 6 dollars 61 cents USA. They use such coins and notes now: 25, 50, 100, 250 and 500 pounds (coins); 1000, 5000, 10000, 20000, 50000 and 100000 pounds (notes).
