I would grade the P MS-63 and I would grade the D MS-65. The D might have Full Steps, but it's hard to tell from that pic.

    1944-D: MS65

The white balance looks off in the photos and I would expect them to appear less toned in hand. The 1944-P has some significant marks that should prohibit a gem grade but the luster looks very good. The 1944-D has a better strike and good luster and no major marks but a number of small abrasions. I have no problem giving it a gem grade. It might go MS66 but I would need to see better photos to give it that grade.

    MS-63, 64, for the "P" 64, 65 for the "D"

    MS-63, 64, for the "P" 64, 65 for the "D".
The "P" is rather tough in higher grades compared to the other war nicks.

    I like 'em. :)

Keep in mind that war nickels are known for strong strikes, especially the D-Mints. Your '44-D is no exception, and I think there's a good chance that it would merit a Full Steps designation. Of course, they don't pay me to grade...

    I would grade the 44 P MS 63 and the 44 D MS 65
