Last coin for 2021. Now I’m down to five more for a complete set. They must be the same TPG, grade and FBL.
Congrats! It sure is a nice one, but same grade, TPG, and FBL? Picky much?! Nah, all good collectors need to be! Keep searching as I am sure it will be an amazing set once finished.
It’s taken a few years and I have them all but the last five. Everyone of them is PCGS, MS-64 or better and has FBL’s. Not an easy task and a bit costly but I really like them. I’ve put two lower grade sets together from junk silver. One all G or VG and the other is F to low AU, of which I had to but a few. It was worth it.
I'm sure this is an eye popping set when sitting there right in front of you. Good luck on your final five. Keep us posted.
Dave that is an accomplishment. I am out of town and away from my resources, but there were some dates in the 50’s that were notorious for weak strikes. If you have scored them all but the last five years with FBL’s, you did something.
The weak strikes are difficult to find with FBL’s. That why I can’t please myself with the right coin. I need the following: 1949-S 1951-S, 1963-S, 1957 & 1958. Easy to find but not in the condition I want. I haven’t looked that hard I’ll admit, but then I have looked hard for a 1927-S Peace Dollar, PCGS MS-64. I just can’t find the right one at the right price. Have a safe trip and Happy New Year my friend!!
Getting them back in the 50's right from the bank's new issues we had trouble finding strong strikes. I found very few and just went with the best I could find.
Busy-Busy-Busy, gotta keep going the clock is ticking, no time to talk! Thanks for sharing. Good luck
Good thing it’s a short set. Could take a lifetime to finish. Buying cases of half dollars from the bank won’t help. Glad for you you Nut. Waiting for more good news
Are you kidding me. You got 31 more just like this one. Well 30 not counting the 1962D. Are these your favorite? Just counted all the Ben’s
Not kidding. It’s taken a few years but almost all off them. Still working on it. I have 2 sets of lower grade Franklins and close to having a third. Yes I like the design so I call him Uncle. Lol
