I am excited one of the coins I sent made your top 10! You did a great job this year collecting a series of nice coins from across history. I think it's great that your kids are into the hobby too. When I was a kid no one in my family could understand what I saw in these old coins. Good luck for a productive 2022 for your family's collection. John
Thank you so much @DonnaML and @furryfrog02 for your comments, they are very much appreciated, though I am just a dilettante enjoying very much ancient coins
These are my three favourite coins , in this order: Elagabalus and Julia Maesa - AE27 Ptolemy VI Philometer - AE27, Isis and Eagle Titus -Judea Capta Congratulations !
Great picks @furryfrog02! I voted for the CVI and Irene because that’s a great coin and one I don’t see often. I would have voted for the EI penny also except your Venetian Grosso is too nice and a steal at under $20. I haven’t bought one but I look at them all of the time. I have to remind myself that I need another set like I need a hole in my head. The Judea Capta though is the best steal and probably best coin of the bunch. Add in that Caesarea Maritima isn’t exactly common and you have a clear winner.
I think you had a wonderfull top 10. I really like the Venetian Grosso/ Ceylonese AE massa Queen Lilavati/Ptolomey VI AE Wish You a great 2022! John
Looks like a fun year, @furryfrog02! Favorites: 1, 2, 6, 7, 10. Here's my obverse die match of #6. As we discussed in another thread, there are at least 5 or 6 reverse dies that shared this one obverse die! So interesting . MOESIA INFERIOR. Nicopolis ad Istrum.
