Ebay rips me off, anywhere else to buy and sell coins for decent prices?

It's very low risk for sellers. Once it gets to Kentucky and in eBays hand eBay takes all the liability. It can be more expensive for buyers but they know that when they decide to buy

@Howard Ryan If you know how to grade RAW coins and size up a coin offering based upon the Seller's photos, and if it is an Auction set your maximum price beforehand, you can reasonably expect to pick up some genuine, uncleaned coins that will slab at one of the TPGs regardless of what venue you search on. The same holds true for slabbed coins from a well-known TPG, but you still should do due diligence by checking the cert # (if there is one) and holder appearance vs. known genuine slabbed coins.

As for eBay, the good thing is that you can return the coin (usually with free return shipping) if you don't like it, OR, if it is Not As Described. If you're selling on eBay there is a wider audience for your offering than most other venues but you also have to fight for visibility in the Listing structure. Because of the Listing Fees, eBay profit on Shipping Charges, State Tax assessed, and Final Value Fee I won't usually consider eBay as a sales venue; an exception to this would be a U. S. Mint offering that has sold out and I can then turn a quick profit in an Auction or BIN Listing.

As others have said in this Topic, you can peruse the Auction/For Sale/Trades/Want List Sections of this and other Forums that you are a member of, and either Buy, Sell or Trade coins between the Members, with a high assurance of a mutually acceptable transaction. Another advantage of doing business on Forums is that members may accept forms of payment such as a Money Order or Personal Check, and there WONT be tax for most transactions!

Personally, I auction my coins through Great Collections (GC) as their overall cost to me is the Lowest of any reputable major venue (nominal listing Fee based on tiered value--starting @ $3; ONLY 5% selling fee for <1K$; NO Selling Fee for >1K$; reduced Grading Fees from the TPGs; GC pays for Shipping/Insurance to and from the TPGs or CAC and DOESN't charge you!; 12.5% Buyers Fee (or 10% if you pay by check/MO/Wire) and NO Sales Tax to ANY State except CA.

Oops! I posted to the wrong Thread!

Aside from the ones already mentioned in this Topic, you could search for Wayte Raymond or Meghrig Coin Boards; they are not Albums, but rather individual Boards with Acetate Slides that permit viewing from both sides. These were made in the pre-safety paper days, so the coins therein would tone over time. I had a set of Meghrig Boards for Roosevelt Dimes but I removed the coins several years ago and sold the Boards on eBay.

I used to like to buy on ebay. But everything is a BIN rather than a true auction, and the prices are very high. I find lots of items that have had been purchased from other auctions being put on ebay with inflated prices.

Try ETSY! Yes, every site has its "wish to become a millionaire" by trying to sell one coin that had post mint damage, thinking someone will buy it. But you know what they say...a sucker is born every day!

But those are the idiots you want to stay away from.

If you do ETSY, stay away from the Penny Man...complete rip-off! He places BU on each end of the roll and the inside are coins that look like $%#&!

However, I buy from OSR Sales...amazing prices and amazing stuff!

    Good Luck!
