I found this in change a few weeks ago. but i didnt have the software on my comp to use my qx5 for pics. its very beat up but i think it could be the doubled Monticello / five cents coin. tell me what you think. thanks in advance.
It isn't the FS# 022 ( FS-05-1939-801) ( expensive one) for sure and I also do not think it is the FS# 022.5 Quadrupled die Reverse one either. The M in Monticello seems dinged right where one would look for the serif separation, and the O doesn't quite have the correct shape. The only other marker would be the top of the "C" in AMERICA, if you could photo that to be sure, but I think not in both cases. I seem to recall there are other DDR for that date, but I don't have the info if there are. There are enough finds on this forum to make a good case for looking ! Jim
These are not even close to the 2-big DDR's. These are not even close to the 2-big DDR's. Look in Cherry Pickers Guild for these. If you find one you will not be able to miss it. The coin in picture looks mashed and maybe some minor mechanical doubling, very commen for nickles.
yeah it is in pretty bad shape. and i really suspected md. but there is always the hope that you found something special. oh well i guess i just keep looking. and thanks for the input....Jon
