Nice enough note to put in a collection. @SteveInTampa has more experience with currency than most, so I'd go with his evaluation. I see three folds, which brings it down, but I can't see much else with those photos. In-hand, do you see any stains, pin holes, other folds or creases? All will effect the grade and collector price.
Very nice note. Its got a nice clean centerline I find the mark in the corner, and the one top dead center interesting.
Thanks for all of the opinions. I'd like to have an XF but this one will do -- at least for now. Prices start to get serious above VF. It's part of my small-size $1 note set.
Would go F-25, but it does appear to have been pressed as there are flattened out wrinkles thru out the note, which would affect value to collectors.
After looking at the note I posted and getting comments I decided to step up a bit in quality. So I got this one from GC: Now I can sell my original and get some money back. I'll also have to look into methods of preventing the other side of notes from showing through during a scan (I scan notes rather than photograph them; it makes it simpler to do).
Agreed, FINE to VERY FINE based on the strict definitions in my currency books. But I'm not surprised the actual rating might not be higher, maybe as high as PMG 30.
Nice example. It took me a while to find a choice example for my collection at a reasonable price. I was seeing them all the time, but they were either certified gems or rags, with nothing in-between.
