I'm wondering if anyone would know what this medal is worth? It's very small and thin, very nice looking and small like the size of a half dollar. Any info on it would be appreciated. :thumb:

    Always happy to help.

The more I think about it I believe the medal was issued to more than just the Ohio Infantry. The first link above shows 1st Regiment Rhode Island volunteers and I wouldn't be surprised if several other nearby states sent soldiers to Camp Meade as well.

Here a clipping from the NY Times...

6000 Pennsylvania soldiers. Plus the 1st Regiment from Rhode Island. Possibly a regiment from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire.

I am rethinking my earlier "produced in fairly limited numbers" comment.

I have this same medal and my medal has a small bell attached to the main nody. My medal also has the string attached to it and is in a case.
