At the my coin club this week, for $3, I picked up the following book:

Official Guide to Coin Grading and Counterfeit Detection
    Second Edition
    PCGS
    March 2004

I realize that this is an older edition, but for $3, I thought it too good to pass up. I don't know much about grading and didn't own any book on the subject. Is this one of the better books?

I just ordered that same book from amazon for $13. The 2nd edition that you have is the most recent edition.

From what everyone says, it's supposed to be the best book out there on coin grading and counterfeit detection...you did VERY good!

The PCGS Photograde web site goes well with this book especially since the book is typically printed in b/w on cheap newsprint quality paper. And there isn't a 3rd edition yet.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm even more pleased now with the price I paid. :)

I usually try to get my stuff from Amazon also. There is a variety there to chose from and if you have the ISBN, it will find it quicker [IMG]
