I am going next. Thank you Secret Santa. 2 mercury dimes, 1931-D and 1941-D,
Presidential dollars... Andrew Jackson, James Madison, Abraham Lincoln, John F. kennedy. A New Hampshire Goldback 1/1000th Troy ounce 24K gold. Never knew about it and now I have 1. Cool. I got 3 cats toys for my 3 cats and they loved them too. Sorry for the poor photos from my antique flip phone...

Hey @spirityoda that's a nice little score you got there. I've never heard of the 1/1000th oz gold either. Would be nice to see a pic of it ;) The packaging looks nice, but the gold would be even nicer :)

That goldback sure is nice! I've seen them for sale before, but I don't recall seeing a New Hampshire one.

All mystery gifts are accounted for. I had some others, but I already knew what they were since I ordered them myself! Those have been catalogued, flipped, admired and put away. Now if I can just hold off until Friday morning!

That room looks good, I see 3 1/2" moldings colonial style with a lintel.

I am still holding out for Christmas. The kiddo and I have a fence to build after the holiday, and we get to go pick up a 54 Ford F100.
    Complete, but in pieces.
Fun gifts , Making excuses to open the gifts early, Nt nt nt nt... Santas watching you!

    The floor looks great @Seattlite86

Pet peeve of mine. And this pet peeve invariably always comes down to the HVAC guy. Why do they install the heat register so darn close to the floor? If you were to use some nice 3-1/2" base moulding, the heat register grate will sit right in the moulding! Ugh!!! Raise the duct another 3" and give the trimmer the opportunity to install a nice beefy piece of base trim without having to notch the moulding. It'll still be efficient for heating a little bit higher.

    Ok, sorry for the hijack.

Better yet, Your gonna have to trim that with a Waynes coat. I see Masters complaint. Bright white would make it slick as a whistle.

Funny you should mention that. They've been building their house themselves, so they're the ones who put that duct there. I wonder what their plan is for the molding. It's been quite educational as I've been helping with it when I can. Plumbing, electrical, heated floors (will definitely do that in my house!), siding, flooring, etc. I've talked my wife into giving me two years after retirement to build our home, before we contract out the remaining parts. Can't wait!

The improper placement of that duct is not unique to DIY'ers. I've seen HVAC guys do it and I've seen plumbers actually install the water closet (toilet) supply line so low to the floor it also sits in the base trim. The trim needs to be notched and the escutcheon sits half on the moulding and half on the wall. AAARRRRGGGG!!!!! Why?

    Howdy Folks,

I believe I am all caught up with my messages. Please check your inboxes! I'm still waiting to tell a couple of Santas that their recipients beat out the porch pirates to their gifts. I've managed to not open my gift just yet, but my fingers are getting itchy!

We are opening all of our gifts on Christmas Eve because we are having a bunch of guests on Christmas day. Kids are all grown so they are happy to open the night before. Cannot wait to open my CT gift!

Was thinking of holding out to Christmas Day but made today the day to open my presents and I am in awe of what I got. I will take pics later over the next couple days, but I got a Coin Book (had not seen this one and it is gor-gor-gorgeous!, very inspiring for coins, it will help me dream big) as well as some proof coins (Woah!) and some non-proof coins (maybe I will get into collecting Lincoln Cents, and another non-proof added to my collection. Only hint I will give is this is the same type I did as one of my first coin purchases back a number of decades ago and I am still fascinated by them). My two Secret Santas are the best!
