I agree that it looked like a lamination at first glance- and maybe it is- but there's also some damage (minor hits) there, which makes it difficult to say for sure. (At least for me.)
I don't go for coins that have odd things on them. I'm sure there are collectors that like coins with damage and we all have our own standards for which we want for our collection. I see it. That's a big one. That's the biggest one I think I ever seen there. I don't think it's worth nothing, though.
A lamination is when the planchet is defective and often a sliver of the surface will lift away. They are very common on war nickels.
