1971P DDO-001 Cent

This one is for @expat . I finally freed it from its flip, where it had happily lived since May 2016 when I found it, and took some pictures. I also scratched it with a staple in the process...


It wasn't the best to begin with...but now that scratch...oof.

Anyways, here it is along with some crappy usb pictures. Not gonna lie, I lost all motivation after I scratched it.

That looks like die-deterioration doubling to me. I'm not doubting it has a listing, I'm just saying what it looks like, it doesn't look like die-doubling to me. FWIW...

 

Yeah!!! Finally I get to see it. Forget the damage, you have one and millions don't. The 1971-P in any of the three major die stages do not surface that often.
I feel worse than you, if you didn't release it to show me it would never have been scratched.

 

Oh well. He will go back into a flip and live there til the end of my days

 

Yeah it's definitely DDO-001. I think late die state and lots of wear.

Is the scratch through Lincoln's hair? That's the only spot I see. Damned staples!
Just put it away for another day.

 

Yeah when I opened it and peeled the flip back, the staple ran across his head/hair.

 

Obverse die also is MAD .
Just like the one I own .
