Entry post. Think I will take the total mystery bag. It's way more fun and broadens what I see in the hobby.

And I would enjoy a mixed bag.
As you may recall, I like silver most of all but I will accept whatever you choose to send, of course.
Thank You LM for the many continued contest opportunities and please,

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Entry post. I would have to choose USA and the older it is, the better. Most of my current collection is very modern. My oldest so far is a flying eagle. And thank you as always for your generous contests. Oh, before I forget the most important thing- I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

    Hello Huckleberry,
My calico long hair Natasha Pusskavich passed away several years ago after 15 wonderful years. Still miss her.

Category C -- USA. I am still looking for a two cent piece for my collection.

It really isn’t that cold, but apparently it is a four dog night. They do like to get comfy on the wife. 4dognight.jpg

    Entry post world please
Specimen is a 8 reale from Spain you can see that the "piece of 8 " has been cut or shaved to make a payment for goods or services less than 8 reales. Most times you see the coin cut into halves or quarteres.
But at times a few slivers of silver paid the bill.

Reminds me a bit of something I once bought from you.

That coin has providence to Mel Fishers , ships captain. As I purchased it from him some 15 years ago.

No offense, but I think you mean "provenance".

Providence is something from God, whereas, provenance is the history of an object.

Considering that many people consider Mel Fisher the Godfather of sunken treasure hunting, perhaps you were correct the first time.

I didn't know that coin had a Mel Fisher pedigree. Only the 1682 Johanna shipwreck pedigree. Which PCGS put on the slab label when I provided them a photocopy of the certificate.

I sold it, but want another shipwreck-pedigreed coin someday. Maybe gold, since it's hard to get shipwreck silver that's straight-graded. But I can't afford a gold cob.

I have no idea about anyone's pedigree, or providence, or provenance.
I'm simply having fun responding to others' posts.

I also would like to own a shipwreck coin, and I have bid on many, but have always been out bid.
For me, at least so far, the cost outweighs the pleasure of owning.
