    Got two rolls of these at the bank. Anyone care to guess what happened to them? I have no idea.

    I have as bunch of coins like those, unfortunately they are all war nickels.

    they were in a garage and had battery acid spilled on them.

    Thank you for the replies. I never thought of fountain coins.
    We have three casinos around here and I find very beat up slot machine halves all the time. I bet one of the casinos cleaned out their fountain or changed/remodeled that area.
    This is leading me to think the casinos dump half dollars at a local bank or their armored car [truck] service do
    Anyway I spend them.

    Clad. There was a time when both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun used real half dollars in the slots. You were paid out at the machine in half dollars.
    Lots of people took them home and on the way out the door they tossed a few in the fountain.
    Altough casinos no longer use the halves they continue to pollute rolls
    I search. They are the most pathetic beat up things.
    None of them ever were silver.
