The artistry of the Lampsacus stater is superbe, the historicity of a stater from the Zeus mint at Olympia unbeatable, and the other three are about as nice a group of greek coins as one could ask for. Congratulations on an excellent year!

I like best the oktadrachm. I suspect that the surface issues drove away the female bidders who did not weight in the provenance factor. This die is particularly well engraved, as the engraver wisely let one leg of the horse and one leg of the man overlap. There are others where the man's legs seem to be disconnected and advancing in front of his body:

Wonderful coins. I'm not into antique coins, but I know what I like. Be safe during this holiday.

I agree, they do look quite odd the way they are engraved. I think the octodrachm is my favourite too. It's nice style for the type and its great to own a coin that has been in some of the most famous private collections ever assembled.

Just wow @Di Nomos ! It is so hard to choose a favorite because each one is worthy of a top spot. I would have to say my favorites are the Ainos tetradrachm and the Alexander I octadrachm... just wow :jawdrop::wideyed::wideyed:
