Well, I have quit buying new stuff from the US Mint. However, I do need to make at least 2 more purchases. I have 21 great grandchildren, and now I know that I have 2 more due in 2022. So, at least a couple of mint sets.
I've got my 4th (and hopefully final) kid due in 2022 as well. So looks like I will be buying a few more mint products.
I think it would be easier to find a cure to cancer. Our youngest son and wife just had their first. So, it is now 14 grandchildren to continue the cycle. But I have a real nice Excel spreadsheet to keep track.
My wife and I were both school teachers. That helped up decided to NOT have kids. And no kids = no grand kids. Also that means more money for coins.
I started that back in 1986 when my first grandchild was born. I didn't carry it very far. At one time I was getting 20 Mint Sets a year. No more. One coin or one mint set is all.
That's more honest out-loud laughs than I've had from a thread in a while. Congratulations to all those expecting, at however many levels removed. We had a son and a daughter, and decided completing the type set was enough. They're 20 and 18 now, and we're in no rush for them to start the grandchildren project.
I have made more than 2 dozen family tree type sets from my lifetime accumulation. I give each coins of all compositions and at least 100 years old. And I match them as close as possible to the age of their parents and grandparents. Here are a couple of photos.
