That 1974 has a lot of diagnostics for a tapered planchet.
-Slightly underweight
-Weak reeding
-Weak rims in the area
-What appears to be tapering on one of your edge images.

 

BUT THE WEIGHT IS 2.3, CORRECT WEIGHT FOR A ROOSEVELT CLAD DIME

 

My bad. I don't do dimes much and for some reason thought the weight was supposed to be 2.5 g.

Maybe a "Texas dime" then, with the reeds polished away?

(For those not familiar, "Texas cents" are placed between something, like leather, and beat with a hammer to make them appear broadstruck or other mint errors.)
