Picked this up for a very small amount of money Yesterday. was labeled as MS60 but I was skeptical. We settled for AU money. To me it seems the right wheat seems to have some wear on it. But I'm no expert in Lincolns. Tell me what you all think. Either way, it'll go in my un-certified type set.
I am hard put to see anything I would call wear on it, but all I can see is a picture. You have the coin in hand. Regardless, if you got that coin for AU money, you did well. If that is AU, it is a 58 with that much red on it.
One of my favorite coins! It looks like full luster to me, with no wear visible but you see things we can't in a picture. With the spots and a partial fingerprint on the rev. I'd call it MS62, if there is rub AU58. Nice coin!
Notice everyone says AU58. Is there an AU59? How could you tell the difference? I can't tell the difference between a MS69 and a 70. Just wondered.
Even if there is a tiny bit of rub on it, I think that it would likely get graded MS62RB based on the color/luster.
MS-63 to me. Sneeze and finger prints are free and poppa there are quite a few numbers that are unused in the grading for now and 59 is one of them :O
Lol, the "sneeze" reference is a new one to me, but when hearing it, it actually looks like it. :smile I knew it had some luster to it when purchasing it even under the "sneeze" and fingerprint. Looking at the coin better I'm hard pressed to see any wear on it either. So a MS62/3 RB looks about right.
There is NO difference between 69 &70. Somewhere in an alley in a backroom of a poolhall, a group of brainiacs get together and determain how many of each group of 69's are gonna have a label that says MS-70. This is true...
