  1. The 1961 looks to be real. The 1988 looks wrong.

1961 called post mint damage and the 1980 is environmental damage not errors

What does the 88 weigh? It has the look of a missing copper plating.
Also a photo of the third side will help. (rim)

Lets tag a few the 88 is interesting, it looks like it has a lustrous appearance and not dull surfaces that you would find on an altered cent. @paddyman98 @JCro57
The 61 is an experiment and a spender imo. Probably mercury.

1961.. Mercury. Wash your hands. Poison!
    1988.. Copper plating removed. Altered.

In the future please create separate threads for each coin.

Also. There is no need to add a Poll.

I took another look, there seems to be some splotchy plating left on the rims.

Another option: There are youtube videos showing how to coat with solder which does the same thing.

I honestly can't tell much from those photos. My first opinion was poor lighting and color balance on the photos, but if not, I'm with @Silverpop on these.

    The are both real.
The 1961 seems plated and damaged.
The 1988 seems as if the copper plating has been removed.

I think both coins were modified after leaving the mint. The 61 maybe was dipped in mercury. The 88 also appears to be coated with something as well as you can see the copper coming back thru on the reverse on the urns at the side of the steps. Not mint errors.
