Oh man! I'm part of the QM club now!
Not one, but TWO letters arrived in the mail today. Both from the QM. The first one had a letter like the first post here. It came with this quarter, stapled to a nice little note that my wife appreciated. QM, if you are reading this, thank you for the kind thoughts.

    First quarter:
    "DEER ME" - Ohio
    QuarterNotes Ohio.png
I "think" this is a reference to the fact that the White Tailed Deer is the state animal of Ohio. If anyone has other suggestions, I'm all ears.

The 2nd envelope had a fun little reference to my username. Just shows that QM is definitely lurking around...

The quarter is a bit of a conundrum. Some quick googling hasn't given me any leads so I will keep at it.

"LAST FRIDAY IN APRIL" - Iowa

Thanks to the QuarterMaster for including me in the fun! Looking forward to seeing others' quarters!

The first is the Ohio State Buckeye, deer(buck)eye(me).
    Working on the second.

The second one i Googled, admittedly.
The Iowa legislature set the last Friday in April as Arbor Day in Iowa. So, Arbor day?
    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Something to do with Arbor Day maybe? I doubt there’s any connection to the Iowa State Fair or the Iowa Caucus.

Edit: I think I have an answer for you both.

    “a burr oak” “arbor oak”

Arbor Day started in Nebraska though.
I know this as a Nebraskan whose state has very few things to be proud of :p

Totally believe you. Only thing that came up when "last day in April" was googled was Arbor day in Iowa, lol. Had to take a shot

Maybe? I'm not feeling it, just being honest. Like, DEER ME on an Ohio quarter just screamed BUCK EYE to me. Nothing screaming Iowa, with this. I'm working on it.

The Iowa quarter depicts people planting a tree. A definite correlation to Arbor Day, which is celebrated on the Last Friday In April.

As convoluted as you'd like to make it, I believe it really is that simple.

Provided that @masterswimmer's hypothesis is proven correct, it would seem that I once again over-analyzed the meaning behind the Quartermaster's message. Regardless, in all the years that I have been collecting coins and paper money, I cannot say that I have noticed a tree being planted on the reverse of the Iowa State Quarter until today.

Iowa, National Arbor day is the last Friday of April, although it's different dates from state to state for a state holiday.
Grant Wood, the artist, Painted a work called "Arbor Day" in 1937 and that's the subject on the coin. Arbor Day, pretty sure that's the answer to that one.

the design on the back of the Iowa quarter is sort of based on Grant Woods painting "Arbor Day". except the tree is bigger on the quarter. the shed and wagon arent there, theres differences.
