It is just under 800 pounds. It was a bit of a fiasco getting it delivered. The 1st 2 comanies tried and failed. Ended up sending it back damaged. The 3rd company had no issues. The main guy (maybe 170 pounds) said he would have delivered by himself if it hadn't been for the landing on the basement stairs. We have a zoned dual-fuel system with a variable speed compressor. It is excellent at humidity control.
Nice space. If the basement is temperature controlled (which you said) you shouldn't have any issues with general humidity. As for plumbing breaks/backups, well...this is new construction, so I'd hope you shouldn't have any issues with failures with the design/installation, provided the household operators know how to operate plumbing correctly. How's your potential for storm/ground water infiltration? That's your other wild card.
That is a potential concern. The builder put in a significant drainage system around the foundation when the house was built. In addition, I had a plumber install a backup sump pump for a little added peace of mind. We have had a lot of rain in the past few months, and it seems like everything is working as it should.
