    That is a carbon spot, there's a couple on the reverse also. It is not struck through anywhere I can see. I love those woodies.

    That's great southern coins... god knows what lighting/camera trickery they employed in taking those pics.

    I do not see it being struck through anything either. I see the carbon spots, but I do not think they will keep it from being slabbed. I suspect that it has been cleaned. I am a sucker for woodies. I still like it. Anyone want to give it to me?

    BTW, I do not trust GSC anymore than the man in the moon, but they do have enough experience that I believe that they would not sell a counterfeit coin - at least knowingly.

    Exactly, their pictures are deceiving. There's a reason a coin like this is not slabbed....and it's not because it's never been submitted.
