Can anyone recommend a good halogen lamp for coins?

I've decided to start using a halogen in conjuction with an incandescent lamp. I find that halogens are great for immediately revealing altered surfaces and hidden cleaning spots. I'd prefer one that is at least 50 watts if possible. Thanks!

    hamman88 Spare some change, sir?

can't you just replace a fixture with one of those tiny bulbs with a halogen?

A 10X stereo microscope with a halogen lamp is pretty awesome....

Zaneman - I just buy mine at Target they are a genaric brand., I have 10 or so in my office & they work great. They are 100W & cost like $10 .
    BTW ~
Just wondering if you have ever used a 5X LED light to use on currency? Those type of lights reveal all of the creases, wrinkles, ironed out folds & just about everything else you would want to see on currency. If you havent try it you will be amazed-

I use a Zeico, but I think you will find little difference between brands, provided you get one with a small bulb...Mike

Use the Sylvania Daylight Plus PAR30 75w halogen floods. There is no better bulb on the market for coin photography. LOWES carrys them. Fit a standard socket.

They are very hot and will melt a slab if too close.
