Just picked these up at the Long Beach show - I don't think I've ever seen a more beautifully toned proof than this 1883! Photos are by Todd Pollock (bluccphotos.com) of course!

wow that is a gorgeous coin and for you to make that statement knowing what you have and seen just supports it. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous coins as I expect from you.

Question. The 83 and 86 both look to me to be cameos. Maybe that is due to Todd's pictures, but are they?

They are just as cameo in hand, but for some reason they are not so designated on the labels. It is my understanding that PCGS is very reluctant to label cameo Indian proofs, and I have no idea why NGC didn't label the 1883.

If they look that cameo in hand, I have no idea what they need to be called cameo. Maybe at the nest big show you are at with NGC, you could ask them.

Another batch of nice coins. I will probably be the odd ball and say the 1886 is my favorite - love the browns like this.

    Awesome set of coins!!
It hard to get NGC put cameo on the holder when the coin is toned.
It is in a newer holder so I don't think you have any chance getting NGC to change there mind.

That '83 is beautiful, shouldn't NGC have called it a BL (for blue) instead of BN? I'd think it should at least rate a star.

    Absolutely beautimus :thumb:

All nice coins but the 1886 has to be one of the most stunning brown coins you've ever posted. Outstanding. Enjoy them.

I agree and I am having a very hard time understanding how both that coin and the 1883 did not get a CAMEO designation. Amazing coins and incredible photography. It really is a pleasure to have the opportunity to admire both the coins and photographs of such impeccable quality.
