As mentioned previously, there is no specific look or grade that I'm looking for for the Morgans in the album, it's more of an "I'll know it when I see it" kind of an approach. Here's the 1880-S Morgan for my date album. I always enjoyed how S mint Morgans from 1878 - 1882 look. I've still got "holes" for 1881 and 1882 and may add a few more S mint Morgans for those years to the album. The images are by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.
Beautiful Morgan! Isn't it amazing how a coin design we have been looking at for ages can seem so beautiful? Almost like seeing it for the first time Thanks for posting.
I generally use Danscos for my albums, but I do have a Whitman or two for smaller coins like dimes and IHC.
Lovely coin. San Francisco turned out the best ones those years, those are good years to get. You're going for eye appeal, not tied down to a number, I like it.
