Here’s another one from my collection, a PCGS, MS-64. Now, if I can only find that last one I’ll have them all. I just can’t find one that’s appealing and at the correct price level. That’s why I keep looking and it’s been many years.
Let me guess, you’re missing the 34-S. That was the last one I needed for my set. I ended up finding one at heritage. By the way, That 27 is a very sharp coin.
I need the 1927-S. I buy the key and semi-key dated first. I’ve found a number of them but they were overpriced or not appealing.
Haha, I have 2 sets of these. One is XF/AU, the other is VG/F. One more and I’ll have my third set, a PCGS MS-64 or higher set. That pleasing, eye appealing, decent priced 1927-S is a tough date to find what I want.
Took me 3 years to find a 27s and a 34s that I liked, and were worth the price. This is my 27s. It is a MS 63.
Want to hear something weird? I own more 34 s peace dollars than any other date. Like the 27 s quarter, I simply liked the year and would always look to buy more for a couple of decades when I was a US collector. Nothing high grade, maybe VF for peace and F for quarter, just liked hoarding them for some unknown reason.
Working on this series, myself. I think both of the coins posted are fantastic. Morgan, I think you are right there on that line where the grade could go either way from them. Worth a shot and good luck!
I think I recall a post about something where you mentioned there was a specific coin you were looking for to complete a series. And that it had to be just the right coin.
Yes it does, actually a number of them have a good price difference between a 63 and a 64. Best wishes if you do so.
Yup, I’ve mentioned it before. A PCGS, MS-64 white 1927-S. I’ve checked out what was pointed out but they just didn’t make the cut. I have several dealers looking but nothing from them on this coin. They have found others for me but not this one. One day it will fall into my waiting hands. Lol
