I had intended to win a different coin from CGBfr. Auction yesterday. My hopes where to get the MS-62 AV Mouton d'or ND Vilorde Mint
Jeanne & Wencelaus Duke/ Duchess of Brabant. This is a common coin/ list as 3K US in Friedberg. My bid of 2600 euros was top bid. When the party started, my dream was shattered, a bidder went to 6800 euros/ so I let him have it. Then, I checked results and noted a 1814-K AV 20 Francs/ Louuis XVIII (Buste Habille) NGC-MS-62 (finest known) was avaliable at opening bid (1000euros) So I grabbed the coin:) not what I really wanted/ but better then a "kick in the pants" Please show your AV 20 Francs from him. fmd_654618.jpg

Great coin, @panzerman That type is interesting - the time between Napoleon's exile to Elba and and his return (before Waterloo permanently ended his career).

I don't have a gold 20 francs anything, but here is a silver crown of that type, 1814M Toulouse mint (sorry about the lousy photos, but it is kind of a lousy coin):

There where some AV 20 Francs struck in London. The AV 40 Francs/ 20 Francs are hard to find in MS-64 or better/ esp. from the mints outside of Paris.
