appears to be a incomplete planchet (curved clip) but at top of obverse (& bottom of reverse) looks like a partial clip (straight)...do not know for sure..asking experts @paddyman98 @Fred Weinberg got this from same guy who had the proof set with the struck through ike dollar (just posted) 263389120_941236126797905_6698230049912943551_n.jpg 263589962_214344767522605_1454802758202609417_n.jpg 263606096_253369066784250_1067861843936841910_n.jpg 263655150_592403812022685_6425700613386359504_n.jpg 263737059_456274832621780_8828565263235776295_n.jpg

Partial clip would be clean on both sides.
I don't think it is. Also when making/cutting planchets they are always round not straight.

ok, i understand now, so would not be an end cut because it would have to be full not partial..(if straight clip) only a curved clip may be a "partial"

more pictures..at the least i guess "defective planchet" with possible pmd (cut ) or
    possible mint meddling??? 263283414_283429340400910_211195098575962443_n.jpg 263422602_6714968955212220_584099604062032432_n.jpg 263475833_434422861511331_4277457615082309437_n.jpg 263516115_3086393291589571_6898113580740545107_n.jpg 263563914_1233264363976190_8921169077591950238_n.jpg 263648270_338804157581266_2314656088418820512_n.jpg 263733659_425020339089133_6878481287484833391_n.jpg 263784154_908238896556552_668037745586650040_n.jpg 264004612_1595133864155693_8351872504356946461_n.jpg

The straight cut looks like a "hesitation cut" and then someone used a nice pair of different nippers of some kind to make the second round cut.

curved clip is a real clip, you can see the metal in the cut has two diff sides also blakesly effect....also was from a reputable error dealer so not worried about that one, the straight cut or gash, yes pmd..

vice-like grip with tool 12:00 while curve clip 6:00 was made in a garage perhaps?

I think someone didn't realize what they had and tried to duplicate the error. Lost or gave up on the effort. Just a thought, trust the experts, I do!

the expert has already spoken, h said the straight cut was damage, not the curved one, blakesly effect anyone?? and look at the shear point, one edge is different than the other, the curved clip is legit it is just about perfect size that another cent nestles in to it....., and no i am not going to get it slabbed and pay 150.00 to pcgs to tell me the circular clip is legit and the straight one is not....

When a strip of metal goes through the blanking press the remaining webbing comes out the other side and is cut into small pieces with a straight cut to make the waste easier to handle. Not all the cutting is curved. Just saying.

from what you said, does it mean that the straight cut could have happened that way, or what?? that is why i asked you what you meant...just curious..i am ok with it being pmd..the curved clip is legit , however..

IMHO you have a "garage coin" someone was attempting to do something for what ever reason and all they accomplished was damage to a coin.

I didn't say in my post above,
but the curved clip is genuine, imo.

I can see the 'cut and tear' marks
inside the clip, even in the blurry photo.
