Beautiful error, makes you wonder if the maker knew collectors would want such a piece many decades later. If I could buy it for cheap, I may, would really depend on my mood! Definitely for the crowd with deep pockets! How about you?? https://www.ebay.com/itm/384527031357?hash=item598798dc3d:g:nmUAAOSwoS5hnqDT
Cool store card. I don't know the seller, he probably knows more about this token than I do. The obverse Is a " GW10-Lovett's Washington" obverse found on Civil war tokens. https://www.cwtoken.com/Civil_War_Token_Type_Set/Patriotics/Pages/GW_-_Washington.html#10 Steve Hayden is both the ebay seller and the one attributed for the photo in the link.
I was corrected once on the die sinker who made these Tokens as I thought it was Robert Lovett Jr. Yes George Lovett's name comes up all the time as well but the real die sinker who made at least part of it is Louis Roloff. Link below shows our conversation on this subject on Collectors Universe! Honestly, I don't know who made it but the "LR" stands for something and could be Louis Roloff. It's a shame that Mr. Roloff didn't sign his full name as he will forever be forgotten about as the Lovett name brings bigger dollars, and it looks like George Lovett's obverse as well! https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1021607/george-soley-medals/p1
