Today is Monday and I'm calling it "MONDAY Morgan Mania 2", after the first one, duh. This is one of a few Morgan's that I own. I actually won this at a Metal Detecting Club meeting in a $1 Raffle . Not bad for a "Buck"!! Please Post Yours .....Thanks.
"Dug", "won", "buck", I'm beginning to see a pattern here. Let me guess, that coin club you "won" that at, no membership fees? Uh huh. I see. I just posted this in another "Sal's something something day Part 3" thread over the weekend but, what the heck, right? It's silver. It's a Morgan. Why not? Cost me a buck, as well.
Ohhh. We definitely had Membership fees. It was minimal and covered some of our planned hunts gifts for Best find etc...
I was breaking your chops! Calm down! Gonna have to change your name from @SensibleSal66 to @SensitiveSal66. You get that mods? Can we make that change please?
A Spanish collector doesn't like Morgans so I swapped a 1988 unc mint set for this even though it has some damage
Wow, it is hard to pick one Morgan to post. Since I like my coins to have worked for a living and have nice eye appeal, I will post one of my toned. slightly used pieces.
@dwhiz I like how you combined your images with the detail in the center. I may start doing this in some cases.
I enjoy the history and politics that surrounded the Morgan Dollar more than trying to collect the set. I started a date set a couple of times and lost interest in it. Here is a set I have in a Capital Plastics holder of the 1878 Morgan Dollars. They should have added another hole for the 1878 third reverse design. Here is the sixth coin Capital should have included, the "reverse of '79."
@johnmilton I agree, the icing on the cake would be the inclusion of the third reverse. But, regardless, it is a beautiful set. Thanks for posting that.
