Is Bank transfer the best way to pay for purchases with Biga? Is anyone familiar with a third party transfer outfit. Advice welcomed.
'Best way' is a matter of taste. I made several payments to them, all bank transfers. Never had any problems with either payment or shipping.
Wise.com I received and paid my invoice yesterday in just a couple of minutes (and will have to redo my top 10 list). Note that using Wise.com the first time does take extra steps and time for setup but once you've done that, using it is a snap. The actual transfer took two seconds (literally) and the fees were half or less compared to other methods of payment. Wise is the way to go to save money. If it's a firm I haven't purchased from I'll usually go PayPal just in case there's any funny business and then Wise after that. I've purchased from Biga and would recommend Wise.
I purchased my first coin from BIGA 3 weeks ago and wasn’t expecting to see it delivered as quickly as it was. I think it was record time from an international dealer. The coin was great. I used PayPal
I've used paypal several times with them. Invoice arrives same day auction ends and shipping has always been very fast.
I would recommend Paypal, or Wise.com, although I never used that service, so it's a qualified recommendation. Wire transfer fees are costly, and if the coins are relatively low cost, Paypal is the way to go. Some dealers/auction houses require wire transfer for invoices over a certain amount, policies vary. A word about currency conversion cost. Paypal's currency exchange rate charge is generally not competitive. A general rule, at least in the past, is that credit card companies offer better rates, so if you do use Paypal, be sure to select the option to have the credit card company determine the conversion rate at check out. Edit: Not all sellers accept Paypal, mostly due to Payal's fees. If that is the case for you, see if you can pay directly though your credit card. That method is accepted by all the sellers that I have dealt with in the past.
I agree Wise.com is the way to go if you do not have this for free from your bank. I used it until my Citigold account started offering international wires for free.
Transferwise! Or wise.com as they are currently known. Listen to TIF. Easiest international transfer from the us (and cheapest) by a long shot. Completely legit. Can’t comment on non us transfers…
