From the second set of photos the R in Liberty on the obverse appears doubled. Anyone else seeing that?

That's a trick of the lighting.

The doubling on these is very minor and would be difficult to photo for most of us to capture. That said the photos aren't good enough to tell the grade or condition of the coin.

What about the date in the red set? 8, 9, 6

Do not forget that coin is covered by nylon, but again I will try to find other ways to take photos.

Why don't you just take your $47,000 coin out of the 3 cent 2x2 and take a picture. :banghead:

Sorry to be critical, but you have a long history of posting coins with fantastical claims, then refusing to accept the responses of knowledgeable and experienced collectors. Why post if you're don't believe the answers? Please, save us the drama, and just send it to a TPG.

I stand corrected! It is a 40%er! Guess I had in my mind that nothing else about the coin brings a premium over $0.50 IMO! Apologize for my misstatement!

If the MM has the same doubling as the devices, It is MD. The MM was added after the hubbing. My money is on MD after the last photos.

It's a filler for a set only worth melt.

I am sorry folks, I didn't think of how my post was against the rules,
It was derogatory and completely against the 1950's rule, I should have never posted it, I am sorry.

Coin is junk silver, worth melt. No doubling, nothing special about it. MS 70? Before you post bizarre posts like this, learn what a real MS 70 coin looks like. Another outrageous post, that should never have had so many reasonable responses.

If it has been polished it can't grade. As for being MS 70, if it wasn't polished maybe it would be 63? The doubling you are seeing is not doubled die doubling.
Current melt value is $3.33 unless proven otherwise, that's what it is worth.

in order for it to be an MS70 it has to be flawless...as in zero scratches whatsoever! Plus, the strike needs to be sharp with incredible detail...almost proof-like! I am sorry to say...this coin doesn't meet these criteria! I buy boxes and boxes of half dollars from the bank, and the odds of finding one that is MS70 is like winning the lottery. Okay, well maybe that's an exaggeration. I have found several MS70 during my search. But maybe one MS70 on 5 boxes! Keep trying...you'll find one. If I were to go by those pictures, I would say it's an MS62/63. Good luck!

Wait! Now is see new pictures. Is that an off-strike coin with a double collar? Please resend pictures outside of the 2X2 holder. It looks like a Silver Dollar Planchet from this picture. IMG_2926 1968 d full.jpg
