An Editor friend, who worked for the Onion a number of years ago, told me that their staff meetings were deadly serious—with none of the laughter you would expect—an occasional chuckle maybe.
I remember a guy from college. I showed him an old coin I had in my collection back then. It was an extremely worn Henri III of France bronze coin. His feedback was "definitely fake, no way a coin can be from that time". On the other hand, he was also convinced that my Fender guitar is fake because "it's black". A truly enlightened man. Too bad he's not on CT, he could explain us all that we are wasting time. History started in 1985.
I'm glad I finished chewing before I read to the end of that article. The bit about Jesus had to be divinely inspired. I guess you just can't get enough clicks with mere "moon landing was faked" conspiracy theories. Maybe I should post a video proving that the Moon landing was real, but the return was fake -- because the Pacific Ocean doesn't really exist. The Beach Boys? Baywatch? They're all in on it.
Well, I've read that the brains of Homo Sapiens were larger thousands of years ago than human brains are now. You no longer have to be that smart to avoid getting eaten by a cave bear.
And from the US weather service today " Hawaii under blizzard warning as 12 inches of snow and winds up to 100 mph expected". Jim
It's sad that so much attention these days is focused on idiots saying stupid things in social media. It might be even sadder that online "news" outlets can sustain themselves solely by writing stories about and quoting stupid people's social media ramblings. I think Idiocracy was onto something
The crazy thing is this makes the news and people seem to give a damn what she has to say. Why would such non-sense garner the attention it has? It's certainly the only reason she said such things.
Haha, I enjoy the fact that her apparence is a prefect match for a conspiracy theorist! All about the attention, although I do wonder sometimes about the intellectual capacity of the human race declining.... Good to read though that others debunk her silly stories. I like the onion, although I also wonder how many people out there can understand irony...
