Hello All, I was going through some Kennedy Half Dollars when I came across this Kone that looks grimy and feels different. The edge feels thick and really high and feels as though it weighs more than the other Kennedy. I measured and weighed them they're identical but it looks weird and feels weird. Maybe some one can see something I don't. The coin on the right is the weird one and the pone on the left is a normal 1972. Hello and Welcome. The one on the Left looks Normal. The one on the right looks Greasy or Grimy. Just my opinion. :)

Your gonna find lots of odd Kennedy's searching this late in the game.
    Both look normal,
next time make sure it's a doubled die or something.;)

Possibly slightly less diameter where someone has started to spoon it, or caught in a dryer. Does it have edge reeding?

Looks like the one on the right is dirty.

Yeah, it is dirty and grimy but it's more than that. I'm not saying that it's anything special is just looks and feels strange. The coin does have a reeded edge.

It just looks a bit toned to me, is all. I can see why it would seem unusual to you, but I don't think it's fake or anything like that. Just toned a bit differently. Maybe a bit dirty, but not in a bad way.

The one on the right is just more circulated..a little more worn and some latent grime. The left one is damaged…machine wrapper scoring.

49 years of circulation use. It's a dirty coin.

I saw a program on TV where a hotel in California washes all their change before they return it to their customers and apparently has been doing so for many years. I'm sure the idea behind it is well intentioned, I squirmed in my chair watching all that change going through that washing process.
