Early Birthday/Xmas present for 60 bucks (Ikea)!...Really good quality and easy to assemble.... I'd been looking into how to display my small collection and decided that I wanted to see them all the time with the flexibility of being able to move sections around as I feel. I'm still having great fun playing around with this and have made sure there is plenty of space left to continue filling with new purchases....Here's some photos, hope you like. Feel free to post your display cabinets.......Paul
It looks great. I'm thinking you have it in an area free of traffic or from anything that would disturb it? Kids, pets, a vacuum cleaner.. One bump and everything inside might get knocked over
Thanks @Orfew and @paddyman98... It's in my office but believe it or not the set up is very sturdy!..The little coin easels do not fall over and they do have a good grip on the coin, I tried e few before buying more...And I really have bumped it heavily with no real response. Kids = 1 at University Pets = 1 Tortoise which wanders around the house ''Slowly''! Vacuum Cleaner? = Dont really exist out here, Everything is tiled so sweep and mop.
Beautiful display @Spaniard Museum worthy ! Do you use different sizes for those coin display holders or is it ‘one size fits all?’ . Where did you buy them?
That looks fantastic!! Also, I'm glad to hear a good review for ikea's Detolf display cabinet. I was thinking of getting a couple .
That looks amazing! I can think of several ways I would be able to use shelves like that. I love the little coin easels. Unfortunately, with 5 cats, 4 kids, and 2 dogs, something with an open face like that is a no go
I think it has a door you can close if you look carefully. Still with all the little ones in your house you might want to wait a few more years. John
I see it now... Yeah a lanky 10 year old, bouncy 5 year old, grabby 2 year old, and a soon-to-be newborn. Not the best environment for a glass display case lol.
That’s a beautiful display, Paul. If you had said that it was a display in the British Museum, I would have believed you.
Thanks for the thumbs ups everyone... She's around 7 years old now, the most traquil pet you can have. When I'm stressed out from work I often sit and watch her she even blinks in slow motion! These are the mini's which are around 3.5cm the more common size is 5.5cm which I thought would be too big for the smaller diameter coins such as Denari and although the easels are still bigger I feel they dont deter from the coin. https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B07T7N8KHD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1 @TIF....Yes I'd really recommend these cabinets, luckily some friends own an opticians and they'd bought the exact same some 20 years ago to diplay their glasses. This allowed me to play around with it in the real before purchasing and see the 39 x 43 x 163 dimensions, compact and strong Hmmmm at 60 bucks maybe I'll pick up another one too. The steps were from here... https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B076DS21LB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@Spaniard is correct when he says that they are sturdy. In our gift shop we have 6 of them spaced out down the centre of the floor. People can view what is on display from all sides as they walk around. Cheap, practical and adjustable for any size of display.
Beautiful display. I would be worried about someone stealing my coins though. How much money in value in coins is there ? I don't know ancient coins yet. What is on the very bottom ??? Are those fossils of shells ?
