    Thanks for the generosity!

I have long found fractionals fascinating. This is one of my first ever. I picked it up for $5 back about 1962 when I was a kid. It seems odd that there would be a bill issued for so small an amount, but, allowing for inflation, three cents then would be about $3.50-$4.50 now in terms of labor required to earn it. (For that matter, $5 in 1962 was a lot more than it is now!) IMG_9309.JPG IMG_9312.JPG

For something humorous, I'll have to defer to the household critters.... and they think their photos are amusing: First up, Prancer learns that he has to wear this to the Victorian Christmas Crafts Fair:

(Prancer is a good sport and actually does not mind... he loves the attention it gets)

I like Fractional currency, too. I don’t do paper money, but if I did, Fractionals would be one of my favored categories. That, and Colonials. And German notgeld. I like all that stuff, but coins are king, and my budget is limited, so I don’t collect paper.

Edited to add: I probably could still afford to collect a few notes without severe budget damage- the notgeld in particular is usually quite affordable- but time and attention span are also finite resources, if you know what I mean.

I’m literally all over the map with my eclectic collection of coins, tokens, and medals as it is. Gotta draw the line somewhere, and have at least a tiny bit of focus. ;)
That’s a pretty good result. Better than I would have expected, given the spot’s appearance in the “before” picture.
I gave you a “like” anyway, despite my dislike of tattoos.

Here's something neat. I'm not really a paper money collector but sometimes I'll browse through it at coin shops. Often it's less than a dollar each and I don't know much but I'll pick out things that look old or that I like the picture on. I was taken aback when I found this one though. It's German notgeld, but what makes it special to me is it shows someone participating in harness racing, which is a niche sport that my family has been heavily involved in for generations. My dad was a trainer, two uncles and several first and second cousins are drivers, and many others owned horses. So this was a really special find.

Very cool. I was under the impression the driver sat in the sulky down behind the horse. That drawing looks like the driver is just behind where a saddle should be mounted.

I see what you mean. You're right that he does sit down behind the horse and it's lower to the ground. Maybe in the 1920s they had a different design?
