Like I said prior, Ike business strikes shouldn't grade 67...the technology did not exist because of poorly made planchets and minting tech. I have a bunch of 66s which look nicer than the subject coin, much less chatter and fewer hits around the edges. The subject is also the very common type2 variety...not worthy of that kind of money in my mind. There are a few exceptions worthy of a 67 grade but this is not one of them. Most of these have a 66 grade however.
yet, here is another pcgs they call ms-65, i think should be at least a 66+ if not a 67, whatchyall think?? https://www.ebay.com/itm/221295070432?hash=item338636cce0:g:BhYAAOSwjMdbabyd
Maybe a 66, lots of chatter here too...look at the unstruck part of the planchet with all the chatter...this is why 67s are so rare. I think 65 is fair on this one.
Like I said you can judge the photographs all you want. I believe that the luster on this coin is what most are missing, The only real difference between 66 and 67 is the luster. Unstruck planchet roughness has luster, contact after the strike is flashy and shows as a disturbed surface, I am not saying that this coin is definitely a 67+ but rather saying that it is easy to mistake planchet roughness for a contact mark. Luster and Eye Appeal rule todays market not rough planchets.
ok, never mind the chatter, there are plenty of direct strikes, gashes all over the coin, the majority of people on here agreed with me, just my opinion, that and 23.50 gets you a coffee at starbucks
Never have bought from Starbucks. If I go to a gas station I bring my own cup. You can down grade it all you want, still doesn't compete with an in hand buy.
not disagreeing with you, but just going by their tru view, and seller pics, i know for certain it is overgraded, i buy 98% of all my coins online, so being able to trust a tpg coin is important, but this coin, the 110k half dollar and many others i have seen have led me to not trust sight unseen coins just because they are graded "professionally" so called, lol ...and i believe that was why tpg's were intended for in the first place, to have utmost trust as to authenticity and grade?? anyways, enuf beating a dead horse...enjoy the discussion have a great night!!
