Truth be known…. I don’t spend a lot (any) time at bookstores. I know that surprises everyone. Just not my thing. Today my girl did a job for me and my reward was to buy her a book so we head to the Books A Million store. She is shopping (another activity that I abhor) and I decide to hunt down the only books that interest me…. Coin books……. Right next to the bodybuilding books is an entire section of coin books…. And not only books but supplies, flips, snap togethers, album pages, magnifiers, tubes, Whitman’s…. It was better stocked than my dealers supply corner! I need to get out more or something….
Barnes & Noble, Books a Million, and Hobby Lobby are all places where I've seen coins supplies before. Like @furryfrog02 the Books a Million around me closed years ago. If you have one around, it's definitely a good resource.
There's a used-book store in my Dad's city that occasionally has coin books, but it's been a few years since anything interesting turned up. They have used Whitman folders occasionally (priced at $2.99 just like most everything else ), but I haven't yet found one with coins in it...
That reminds me of Half Price Books. Whenever I went there I'd take a look at the coin book section. There would be some folders but just like in your case, never any coins.
Our local book store, the big one anyway, closed down a few years ago. They used to keep plenty of coin books and magazines on hand but never any other supplies.
I visit Barnes and Noble a few times a year. They have coin albums, Red Books in all sizes and formats, Coin Guides, Coin Magazines and flips. The only thing that has saddened me is that they eliminated all the Metal Detecting magazines I loved to buy I asked why and they responded "lack of interest"
