I purchased and paid for a couple of Jeff nickels from them in mid January. I have still not received the coins and when I emailed them yesterday to inquire about where my order was the email was returned because their inbox was full...

I bought a coin from them at the Vienna, VA, coin show in December.
Unfortunately once I log a coin into my inventory I toss the receipt.

But I see an e-mail address:
    islandcoins@aol.com

With the recent snows they maybe be sitting it out somewhere.

Some online dealers are just very slow.

I wouldn't start to worry yet. Call the number, then reassess.

I called yesterday... left a message but no response.

I have bought from him in the past and never had a problem. The interesting thing is that the coins I purchased 30 days ago still show on the site as for sale when he usually marks them as sold within a day or 2.

    okay, folks.

    Sad news.

Gary, the owner of Island coins died.

He was only about 46, but had heart problems.

I just learned about it this morning at the Melville Coin show.

I have known Gary for about 20 years and he was a great guy, with a great sense of humor.

    I will miss him.

As for your order, I haven't heard what his family is doing, his death was sudden, and (obviously) unexpected.

Very sad indeed. He obviously put a lot of time and effort into the business--I really enjoyed looking at the incredible selection of amazingly toned coins on the website.
