    Hi everyone,
Found this silver penny recently, but once more it has me stumped. I know the moneyers name is Ilger (a first for me), and it was minted in London, but I just can't fathom whether the king is John or Henry!
I look forward to hearing from you, many thanks in advance! obverse.JPG reverse.JPG

It looks like Henry III to me.

    From wildwinds:

For what it's worth, it looks from here as though @furryfrog02 nailed it. North notes that this late class has Lots of variants, but even with the relative lack of detail on the portrait, every other detail --lettering, hair, and other flourishes-- seems to check out.

Many thanks Furry Frog for all the info, I'll get it labelled now. Not as good as your Henry penny, nice one!

I wish it was mine! That example is from wildwinds.

I only have 2 half pennies from Henry III. I guess it makes up one whole penny though haha.
