Many to pick from this year but I'll go with these two. The color on the reverse of this 1880-S MS-64* is incredible. As for the the $20, this is the last affordable date before the ban and confiscation. It also happens to be the highest mintage gold coin of any date or mint mark that the US mints produced. (8.8 million) At 65+ NGC has only graded 1,570 higher than this one. Acquired both at this years ANA World's Fair. Photos by me using a Canon T3i on a copy stand with Nikkon El-Nikkor lens on a bellows. Three to four standard LED bulbs, no diffusion. Auto white balance. Remote shutter on laptop using standard Canon software.
2021 S Morgan. My pictures. Lighting could be a tad better. No post processing other than cropping and rotating.
Not my most expensive purchase but my favorite. I have been searching for high-grade Maine whose appearance I liked for years and I finally found one in October. It's an MS67 and, while not as toned as the picture shows, it is still pretty ... at least in my eyes.
No need to post my two best purchases of 2021, as they can be seen in photos everywhere, but my hat's off to the two CT members who helped me with procuring two 2021 (P) Peace $ that I missed out on with the mint-order fiascos (long stories), to go with my two 1921 high-relief Peace $. One member allowed me to piggyback on his order by ordering an extra one at mint price and another member didn't charge me too much more or I wouldn't have been able to buy it. The 1921-2021 Peace sets will go to my two Army sons. Indeed my two best 2021 purchases...THANK YOU, gentlemen...you know who you are...!
