1961 Jefferson nickel

    What in the world happened to these nickels environment really kick their butts. the reverse of the 61 has at least two die cracks and what's going on with the lightning strike going south from the t in Monticello .     Looks like fire damage or high heat. Cracks are damage related, not a mint error

    Thanks everybody never thought fire damage but as I look at it I agree acid I was pretty much sure and so-called die cracks i can see now... Environmental

    By the way I got all of my cents in decades and I remember seeing out here a list of cent errors i believe 70s
