New. 2nd post. I'm wanting to start a longer term collection of CC Dollars, and I've heard a good grade to try collect are graded MS64s. My research says this is an excellent grade to collect. Since this will ultimately be quite expensive that's why I use the term "long term". I thought I'd start with the '82; '83; and '84, and see how it goes from there.

I'd like some thoughts on this idea of mine. Who to buy from? Since I'm smitten with this idea I know I'll love the collecting and the collection. Q. In addition, is there a good likelyhood these will continually appreciate in value (not to sell, but to pass on), and if so, any estimates as to how much?

Also, I'm 1 coin short of finishing a Peace collection, and want to know the etiquete about asking if anyone has the 1 for sale. I know a dealer but he doesn't seem interested since I probably can't afford anything but a XF or AU. I know the PCGS sell site; and ebay sells some slabbed graded; I just need other ideas on where to buy. Thks; appreciate it.

for your last peace dollar i'd try shows if you don't want to ask the dealer. and the correct ettiquate is to just flat out ask if they have coin A in xf or AU. I figure if they have it they want to sell it so theres no harm in asking

YEs it is, once you have 10 posts you can go into the open section and post a thread asking if anyone has the coin for sale or trade.

CC's would be a terrific collection. Be careful lots of fakes out there.

Like PF said, once you have 10 posts you can post in the open section, there you can post any coins your looking to buy/sell, and members will pm you if they're interested.

As for the CC Morgans, 64 is a very obtainable grade for some dates (82, 83, 84), but some of the other dates are a little more expensive, and some are very expensive (93-CC is around $10,000, and the '89-CC is around $60,000)

As for who to buy from, usually in person (Shops/Shows) is best, because you really get to examine the coin. Sites like Heritage have very good pictures, and great customer service. eBay is always an option, but your going to want to make sure the pictures are good, and the coin is certified by a major grading company.

On the future value. I think the prices on common year cc's have softened some over the last couple years. But long range I feel they will go up. Some one like one of the dealers here could probably answer the last few years part better. One of the normal caveats apply here. Past performance is not always an indicator of future performance.

There are quite a few Morgan dealers here and at local shows - make sure you understand their terms especially if you choose to buy through autions, the internet, or mail order. If they're stand up dealers they will have a reasonable return policy as long as they feel they are protected in some manner.

Raider is right on target when he says "at shows or in person" you really need to be able to see the coin before any money changes hands - don't be too anxious it shows when there is money burning a hole in your pocket!
