INTERESTING: SOMETHING STRUCK WITH THE COIN

    Anybody have any idea what happened here. little Philippines 5 cents had something between the dies when struck. Whatever it was is pretty thick as the dent in the coin is fairly deep. There's also something going on the other side as well. Mike DSC04749.JPG DSC04745.JPG

    That's dried adhesive. That didn't happen during the minting of the coin.

    Try a long soak in acetone and then a wooden tooth pick to remove it.

    Looks like a two part epoxy mixture held the coin to the interior or exterior surface of a Jeepney for flashy decoration. I've seen it done before there.

    You guys were right. I soaked it over night in acetone and it's gone. Thanks, Mike
