This weekend will give me plenty of time to make sure my coin database gets up to speed and I will associate newly taken pics with many of my records. See I live in Maryland and the snow depth has reached about 6 inches so far........I'll update later.:loud:

Woke up to roughly 22" still snowing and blowing very hard, the drifts are running to about 30".......more to come

What you need is the Chicago Weather reporting people. They just predicted several inches of snow. About a trace. A few days ago they predicted several inches of snow. Nothing at all. On two different TV stations they said it is snowing now at OHare Airport. Nothing at all as they say that. Tomorrow they said it will be partly Sunny, mostly cloudy, snow showers occationally, high about 31 and low about 36.
In other words, we have no idea of what is happening now, yesterday, tomorrow with the weather.
Regardless, there is a coin show this Sunday around here.

Looks like up here in Northeastern Connecticut we will be exempt from this storm. That's ok a coin shop 40 miles north of me [Worcester] has a bid board ending tomorrow.
Hey OP have you ever been to Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, MD ?

Yes he changed it to every other Saturday at 4pm. Reason is he wants Sundays off. The store is now closed on Sunday.
Come on over for the eats!

Well my work schedule has me on every other weekend. I always had to work when he ran the board off. But just recently he pushed it off for 3 weeks because of the holidays. So now I am off the weekend he runs it.
I did overpay for a NGC MS69 2000 one tenth oz AGE last time. With the Mass tax it was just under $150. That is double what I got one for a few years ago.
Yes he has it made. I watch people bring in big boxes of stuff to sell him.
You know he inherited the set up from his father? Not in that location. I think it was more downtown then.

I need to move up north with you Flagstaffers, because its still hot down here in Tucson, AZ.....LOL well low 70's that is. My wife and I love driving up to Flagstaff during the summers when its 114 degrees here in the Senora desert. Ive been to the small coin shop on the far east end of town across from the train tracks. They seem to do a lot of silver business there.

Victor, will you be at the show in Willimantic on Mar. 28th? Annual coin & currency show. I've never been to it. I hear it's pretty good.

Yeah the shop here is pretty good. but not the snow :(

  14. I have heard you got a lot more snow now. Good time to work on coin database. Although it is missing us this time, we New Englanders can relate. Stay safe. TC

Monster snow for the DC area.
Looks like it'll be in the top 5 in recorded history.
I've got 22" on my back deck AND it's still coming down.

Doesn't look like 22" but that's because it's been blowing around.

In the Heartland of the Jersey Shore it is really snowing! Fortunately all are inside and staying warm, for now!
As soon as the storm abates, it will be time to go and dig out...
In the meantime, I am interested in what software collectors use to keep track of their coins. Any suggestions, pros and cons, are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks! ;)

    I use a spreadsheet (Excel).
It's nice because you can set it up to contain the info you want.
Plus since you set it up, you can edit its structure as you change you mind.
Also most people already have a spreadsheet application so there's no additional cost.
And if you can program you can make Excel "jump through a few hoops".
You can even link to images on your computer so that you can click and look.

For those with more experience a databasing package (such as Access)allows you to do more.

If you could be so kind, please send a few inches this way. The snowmobilers are getting pretty frustrated here in Wisconsin!

I use microsoft Access, which is similar to "Excel on steroids". I'd love to have a full blown database to be able to choose which coin, mint, variety, etc...but I really don't want to spend the money on software. I'd rather spend the money on more coins.....specially since a database like that requires yearly updates to remain current further biting into my precious coin budget.

    <<<<<<<<<<<<<throwing snowballs at quartertrapper......... ;)
