Is it ok that I sent to PCGS with signature required?

I didn’t pay to have pictures taken of mine since there were 3 of each kind and it made no sense for a 2021 Morgan.

So I imagine when mine are graded it will look the same but without pictures right?

aside from the little 'gold shield' and the free trueview pix, what is the advantage to the 'gold shield' submission?

I just checked and it looks like today mine were entered into the system to begin the process.




One thing I’m confused about is that it says “received: 11/17/21” which is still before the cutoff date but they received my package on 11/15 not 11/17 so I wonder why it says 11/17 for date received.

 

Because thats when they opened it and processed it

 

That’s awesome as I got 32 in for express and they arrived at GC on 11/4. As long as they got it to PCGS in a timely fashion my wait shouldn’t be too far off. This, though no action on my 36 graded coins also received on the same day.

 

Yeah but then it sounds to me like they count the date that it’s processed as the receiving date.

So it seems like if they had waited just 2 more days to process my package I would have been ineligible for First Strike because even though my package got there before the cutoff date they didn’t use the date that it was shipped or received but rather the date that it was entered into the system.

 

Interestingly enough, it seems there “is” some confusion at PCGS and I’m not sure what’s going on. Sealed mint boxes to my knowledge have always been FS eligible based on the mint ship date used as the cutoff.
I got a call tonight regarding this order. It’s my buddy’s order and he asked me what to do. I told him givem a call dummy. The PCGS rep said there were 2 issues. First his submission had 21 coins not 18. Second the rep said some of the coins were not FS eligible as they didn’t arrive within 30 days. He replied huh, they’re mint sealed and received well within the cutoff. The rep gave him a hard time and said he’d have to look into this. Now perhaps they’ve hired new people but this doesn’t instill confidence.

 

Which coins did he send in?

I understand there being a problem with 21 coins marked as 18 because they probably want to make sure everything is accounted for and nothing got lost in transit.

But are they the 2021 Morgans and Peace Dollars? If so the 11/18 received date should be on time for FS eligible since it says so right on the PCGS website that the cutoff for them in 11/18.

I just checked my order again today to see if mine said “problem order” as well but it looks like mine has moved on from “Received” to “Grading” so I imagine there are no problems with my order (yet).

 

Yes, all Morgan’s & Peace. He’d said he was arguing with the guy who told him the cutoff was the 15th…He was like Dude, they were all mint sealed boxes. Any hoots, the PCGS rep indicated he’d send him an update via email.

I’m not panicking at all. My submissions made it in in time so there is no reason to panic.

I’m just trying to learn based on what I see. @Casman also said he believes there is confusion on PCGS’s part so it’s not like it’s just me trying to figure out what is going on.

But that’s not the same as panicking. It’s an attempt to figure out how it all works so that hopefully if someone else ever has questions about the issue I will be informed enough to help them out by providing facts without speculating.
