this is struck on the wrong planchet in 1977. they call it a black pearl and was crimson midnight red tone. there a few that are environmental dmg, but from what i have reserched and waiting on a oen top error coin guys to get back with me. it a error from top to bottom struck on the wronge planchet stock. envoromental dmg have visable dmg pocking and all to go black this retained a matte smooth to it and dark dark midnight crimson red cent

know anything about 1897 Indian head with die scratching on the reverse, the scratch match what i was looking for but need a expert to verify the grooving from the outer diameter of the die . just started working on getting my ana grading certificates. also a experience tool and die maker by trade and aerospace
All that is is damage. Post Mint Damage. DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged.. Not a mint error of any kind. Again. Start new separate unique threads with your questions.

Can you show the part of the slabs where the grading company gives it's opinion? My guess is environmental damage on the Lincoln and scratched on the Indian head.
give me few more these black showing the environmental with the foreign midnight red patina planchet from the side with the same matte red. i have one that environmental and they are all black crappy and the no color from the patina process for specialty planchet's to dude in coin since 1985 enjoy face ever time you grab a coin Mercury . been know to mess with coin over the years
