Teller at the Bank.. ( Who I now HATE! ) Found a 1934 C 100.00 Bill.. She Found it since she was looking for me.. But decided to keep it.. I HATE HER! Now.. She said she will sell it to me on the Side for 160.00.. I Hate the Fact that a Bank agent would sell me $$ OVER face.. It is Right in her Drawer!! Unreal.. But I may get it.. I don't have a Picture.. But it is OK Shape with 2 folds sadly... How hard of a SN is this.. Thanks for any help.. 1934C J 02994481 A I just need a rough Idea of Price range for this Bill..
Tell the bank manager an employee is trying to sell money from her drawer on the side for more then face. Problem solved...
I know, It is just that I LOVE this Bank.. They put up with me.. and I am a Pain.. And she gets me stuff from the Vault sometimes.. Its just this time!! AARRGGG!! I think she paid for it from the Bank a few weeks back.. so now it is hers. .. I guess? I may just need to bite it on this one and buy it.. I just want to get a fair price.. and she .. ( Who know NOTHING about currency ) went to EBAY and seems to think it is worth 140-160.. Who knows what she was looking at.. At the Lowest.. What would the Bill be Worth.. No Pine Holes.. 2 folds.. Not to bad edge were.. no Cuts No Ink, tears .. ??
Just pay her and consider it a payment to her for all of the searching and running to the vault for you.
That's what I'd do but offer only $120 and be done with it. If you buy it, it may lead to something which only benefits her. So you really have to ask yourself if you're willing to potentially open a can of worms.
Or by paying her shes gonna expect something every time she finds a bill she thinks is "worth" something.
Sounds like she has got you by the B***s. You can't win either way now. 1. You could go to the manager and get her angry or even fired (either way you are not getting any more coins). 2. You could pay her and expect to keep paying but still get coins/ bills. 3. You could not pay and forget about it and also forget about any more help from her.
First, I think what the teller is doing is perfectly acceptable although I see how it could **** someone off. Where does it say that tellers can't be dealers? Secondly, the note is not worth much over face, and most likely not worth $160. What district was it issued from?
Tellers can be dealers away from the bank. However, they can't be both at the same time. I don't know of a single bank out there that allows this. The employee handbook is where it is says that.
The teller I have dealt with told me that they can keep what they find if it's replaced with the same value. They cannot sell it from inside of the bank. -O)
If thats the case they would probably just get the number and make The deal outside the bank, I know a armored car driver, A friend of My brothers who can actually cherry pick deliveries to the bank, Including very low serial numbers, Star notes, Radars etc as long As they replace the value!! I find this amazing but it,s true!!
I know that the armored carriers have to turn over any misprints found or coins that will not roll or are defective back to the mint, or they will be in trouble, loose the business. -O):goofer:
I agree with Sweet Wheatz, I think your casual arrangement with this teller are over. She has went from viewing you as that obnoxious coin and currency guy to a steady customer. She probably figures, why do all of the searching for a thank you and a smile, when SHE could be making the $$$. And I hate to say it, but she's right. I would try to find another teller or another bank. -LTB
