Hello I have a 1993 D brass plated penny. I understand the mixed feelings on these, but what has me puzzled is it makes the same sound as my copper pennies doing a drop test?? I am getting a scale soon. Any ideas??

The brassy color is probably toning from exposer, and may be the cause of the blisters. But, I think the cause of the blister is contamination of the zinc planchet before plating. Once a zinc cent acquires blisters like your coin it has no value,
    it just becomes a curio.

Looks like a a teardrop from Abes eye. I would cry to if I were made of zinc.
