Is there a Catalog/Guide of US Trade Dollars, Varieties and Errors? Sort of the equivalent to the VAM guide for Morgan Dollars. Looking around online I couldn't find one.
Not that I know of. Joe Kirchgesser (?sp) is working on a definitive reference work on trade dollars that I expect will cover pretty much everything. Otherwise it's sort of a specialty nerd thing. Come to think about it...I've never seen or heard of any text ,or web site on trade dollars. As a variety collector, I do make notes on books, and sites even on series I don't collect. Unless there's one that is out of print....but going down that hole the information is most of the time out dated. I also try and book mark sites that have good information on any series. I do recall one that did educate you on fakes trade dollars...but can't find it now. I wonder if any information is available from the round table group...which to my knowledge dont know if they are still a group.
